Our fire station open days are a great, family-friendly day out! Learn more about the fire service, see fire engines and other vehicles up close, meet our crews and see a range of exciting demos of your local firefighters’ skills and knowledge.

This open day, at Sutton Coldfield Fire Station is on 4 August 2024, between 10.00am and 4.00pm. Free parking is available at nearby Sutton College. All our open days are free to attend and no RSVP or tickets are necessary. You can RSVP to let us know you’re coming and get a free reminder the day before the event!

Our open days have a range of activities which often include*:

• car cutting (extrication) demonstrations
• rope rescue demonstrations
• virtual reality experience by our Road Casualty Reduction team
• meet and greet with your local firefighters
• see our fire engines and vehicles, often with the chance to get inside and take pictures!
• various community stalls such as face-painting, food, drink and sweet stalls and sometimes even an ice cream van!

We’re often joined by others such as our Fire Cadets, other local partners such as West Midlands Police or St John Ambulance and more. And, if you’re very lucky, our fire service working dogs sometimes make an appearance too!
