Shortly before 7.30am on Monday (11 November), we responded to Old Fallings Lane, Wolverhampton. Three fire engines and a 4×4 brigade response vehicle from Wolverhampton, Bilston and Fallings Park stations responded, crewed by 17 firefighters. This was a fire in the garage of a two-storey, semi-detached house. Smoke logging has affected the entire property, although the fire was contained in the room of origin. One man was rescued by firefighters and received medical treatment from paramedics for smoke inhalation. He is believed to have been conveyed to New Cross Hospital for further treatment. There are no other casualties or injuries and everyone has been accounted for. The fire was safely extinguished. We have scaled down our resources at this incident but two crews remain to assist with digging out, which will begin once the electrics have been isolated. Gas supply has been safely isolated.
