RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 5th February 2023
Please find below a summary of our findings.
Request.
How many churches in your jurisdiction have been damaged by fire since 2010?
Reply
There were 33 properties recorded as “Church or chapel” damaged by fire since 2010. However, if I include those where there was no fire damage but there was damage from smoke/heat/etc as a result of the incident, this number is 44.
Please note: The figures above are for incidents WMFS attended, any other churches damaged by fire but which we did not attend would not be recorded.
