RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST 

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested further to your Freedom of Information request. 

Please find below a summary of our findings.

  1. How many motor vehicles are owned by the service as of November 2024 
  1. How many electric vehicles (including hybrid) are owned by the service as of November 2024 
  1. The manufacturer name of electric vehicles bought by the service up to November 2024 
  1. How much has your service spent on electric vehicles up to November 2024 
  1. What are electric vehicles used for in your service 

Reply 

This information is exempt under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as this information is reasonably accessible to the requestor. The information can be found on the West Midlands Fire Service website at the following link:

6. How many electric vehicles does the service plan to purchase in the five-year period to March 2030  

Reply 

We have plans to purchase 4 EV vehicles at this time. 

Request 

7. What budget has your service allocated to purchase electric vehicles every year up to March 2030 

Reply 

There isn’t a specific budget allocated to EV vehicle replacements. We would suggest a cost to replace the current vehicles as per our Vehicle Replacement Programme.
