Grass fire on Barr Beacon during heatwave
A grass fire on Barr Beacon Hill, which started on 13 August, was attended numerous times during the heatwave weekend. The incident was finally closed on 15 August.

Crews re-attended this morning as planned around 08:30 and, due to conditions, further fires had ignited. An area of around 200 square metres was damped down by firefighters. They left the scene at approximately 10:30 today. A further revisit has been arranged for crews to attend at approximately 14:00.
Crews attended as planned at approximately 14:00. Further hot spots were damped down by firefighters. A further revisit was arranged for 18:00.
Crews attended again at 18:00 and damped down further hotspots and requested a final crew to attend in the morning.
A brigade response vehicle from Perry Barr attended the Barr Beacon Hill site this morning to do a final check. No further hotspots were found. This incident will now be closed.
