Wyken Way, Coventry, UK
Shortly before 4am on Wednesday (8 August), we responded to Wyken Way, Coventry.
Four fire engines, two 4×4 brigade response vehicles and a hydraulic aerial platform from Foleshill, Binley, Coventry, Canley and Billesley stations attended, crewed by around 30 firefighters.
This was a fire affecting the roof space of a residential property, that spread to the first floor. The property was heavily smoke-logged.
Twelve firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the fire. They were assisted by drone operations.
Everyone was accounted for and there were no injuries. Firefighters checked for fire spread in neighbouring properties but none was found.
Wyken Way was closed whilst we worked at the scene but has since re-opened.
Police colleagues were in attendance.
We scaled down our presence to damp down, before leaving the scene at 7.09am
