Shortly after 3.25pm on Wednesday (30 August), we responded to a fire on Church Lane in Coventry. Five fire engines from Binley, Foleshill, Coventry Canley and Solihull stations responded, crewed by 23 firefighters. The incident involves a fire in a barn, measuring 30m x 40m that has spread to a number of surrounding outbuildings. Two main jets and two hose reels are currently in use as firefighters work to extinguish the fire. Further updates will be shared when we have them.

Church Lane has been closed as we work to bring this incident to a close.
Four fire engines remain at this incident. We continue to work to damp down significant amounts of hay. A drone have been in use to identify hotspots across the site. Our presence is expected to remain throughout the night as we work to bring this incident to a safe conclusion.
One fire engine remains at this incident as we wait to hand the site back to the owner. 75% of the barn has collapsed as a result of the fire. Our investigation into the cause of the fire has concluded, with the outcome being that it started accidentally.
